Engine Service and Repair

Routine maintenance, diagnostics, and full rebuilds on outboard and stern drive engines. Factory-trained technicians service Mercury, Yamaha, Kohler, Yanmar, and Fischer Panda equipment on site.

Repowers

Swap out a tired engine for new Mercury or Yamaha power. The crew handles removal, mounting, rigging, and sea trial so the new setup runs right before it leaves the dock.

Mechanical and Electrical Systems

Fuel systems, steering, bilge pumps, battery banks, shore power connections, and onboard wiring. If a system keeps a boat running or livable, the service department works on it.

Rigging

Standing rigging, running rigging, and Selden Sta-Lok hardware for sailboats and cruisers. The team inspects, replaces, and tensions rig components at the South Portland yard.

Hauling and Launching

A marine travel lift rated for boats up to 75 feet and 55 tons with beam widths up to 22 feet. Seasonal haul-outs, splash-ins, and repositioning are scheduled through the service desk.

Spring Commissioning

Bottom paint, zinc replacement, engine startup, fluid checks, and systems testing to get a boat back in the water after winter. Work begins in early spring and runs through the May 1 launch window.

Winter Storage

12,000 square feet of indoor heated storage protects hulls, engines, and electronics from the Maine winter. Winterization and shrink-wrapping are handled before the boat goes inside.

Restoration Work

Gelcoat repair, fiberglass work, and full hull-to-helm rebuilds on aging boats. The shop takes on projects ranging from cosmetic touch-ups to complete overhauls.

24/7 Emergency Hauling

Round-the-clock emergency haul-out service for boats that cannot wait for a scheduled lift. Call the service line any time to arrange an immediate pull.

Indoor Heated Winter Storage

South Port Marine offers 12,000 square feet of indoor heated storage for the off-season. Your boat stays out of the Maine winter from haul-out through spring launch. Storage requirements to know before you book:

Tarps are not permitted as boat covers.
Boats needing mechanical service must arrive five days before the scheduled haul date.
All boats 30 feet and over are required to be unstepped during winter storage.

  We always feel so welcome at South Port Marine. It is located in South Portland just over the bridge which is easily cycled or walked via a safe pedestrian lane. The channel coming into the slips is tight and well marked by green buoys and red/orangish pilings. The crew is readily available for docking assistance. The facility is extremely clean and well stocked. There are so many things to do from this amazing location. Mandy and her crew are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
