About Mercury 90HP 90ELPT 20″ Shaft – Outboard Motor
The Mercury 90ELPT is a 90-horsepower FourStroke running Mercury’s 2.1-liter four-cylinder block, one of the largest displacements in the 90 class, which is where its low-rpm pull comes from. It carries electronic fuel injection for clean cold starts, electric start, power trim and tilt, remote controls, and a 20-inch long shaft. The valvetrain is maintenance-free for the life of the motor, the alternator keeps a battery and electronics charged at idle, and at 360 lbs it weighs the same as the 75 sharing its block, with saltwater corrosion protection through powerhead and gearcase.
Ninety horsepower with 2.1 liters behind it planes a loaded 17 or 18-foot center console without hunting for revs, the kind of margin that matters crossing Casco Bay with the afternoon chop up. It’s also a common repower size out here, and swapping a tired two-stroke for this one usually means easier starts and better fuel range on the same transom. South Port Marine stocks and installs the 90ELPT in South Portland, so call (207) 799-8191, or reach the Danvers sales office at (978) 904-1924 for the North Shore.
