About Mercury 20HP 20MH 15″ Shaft – Outboard Motor
The Mercury 20MH is a 20-horsepower FourStroke, the full tune of Mercury’s 333cc twin-cylinder EFI block, and at 105 lbs it weighs exactly what the 15 does. Fuel injection means no choke and no priming, just a clean start cold or hot, plus a steady idle and better fuel economy than the carbureted motors this class used to be. It runs a rope start, twist-grip tiller, 15-inch short shaft, forward-neutral-reverse gearshift, and an external fuel tank, with sacrificial anodes and saltwater corrosion protection through the powerhead and lower unit.
Since the 20 carries no weight penalty over the 15, it’s the smarter buy for any transom rated to take it, and the extra five horses show when the boat’s loaded. That’s enough motor to plane a 14-foot skiff with two people and gear, working the flats and coves along the Maine coast or crossing to the Casco Bay islands. South Port Marine carries the 20MH in South Portland, so call (207) 799-8191, or reach the Danvers sales office at (978) 904-1924 on the North Shore.
